Soil Conditions: Excellent alkaline tolerance

Wildlife Value: High for song and ground birds, and large browsing mammals; particularly important in the winter for pheasant, mule and whitetail deer

Misc: Native; works well as dense, medium height windbreak or barrier; mostly free of serious insect and disease problems
