Wildlife Value: High wildlife value; browsed by big game in spring and midsummer; provides nesting cover 

Misc: Showy yellow spring flowers; red to orange fall color; native; produces black to purplish-brown fruit that can be used for jellies. Can be used in hedges and windbreaks; often planted with other woody species.
